Invercauld Red Grouse – Royal Deeside - Oil Studies

Now back in the studio with a series of photographs, sketches and memories I am ready to start on larger studio based oil paintings from that day over the hill. Just off the Gairnshiel to Balmoral road by Piperhole the keepers were preparing for the 'Glorious Twelfth' and the start of the grouse season.
